SMACT Works is seeking an experienced Oracle ERP Cloud Functional Manager who combines deep, hands-on functional expertise with strong project and delivery management capabilities. This individual will lead Oracle ERP Cloud implementations, reimplementations, enhancements, and optimization initiatives while remaining actively involved in solution design, configuration, business-process analysis, testing, and client decision-making.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable facilitating an executive steering committee, managing scope and financial performance, leading a cross-functional delivery team, and working directly with business users to configure and validate Oracle ERP Cloud. This is not a project-management-only position; the successful candidate must provide credible functional leadership and personally contribute to delivery when required.
Primary Areas of Responsibility
Hands-on Oracle ERP Cloud Functional Leadership
- Lead functional delivery across Oracle ERP Cloud Financials and related business-process areas from discovery through stabilization.
- Facilitate requirements workshops, document business requirements, perform fit-to-standard and fit/gap analysis, and recommend practical solutions, alternatives, and workarounds.
- Configure Oracle ERP Cloud modules and guide the team through functional setup, design validation, prototype demonstrations, and configuration decisions.
- Develop current-state and future-state process flows, solution designs, configuration workbooks, functional specifications, and decision documentation.
- Provide hands-on expertise in two or more core areas such as General Ledger, Payables, Receivables, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, Expenses, Procurement, Project Financial Management, or related subledger functions.
- Partner with technical teams on integrations, data conversions, security, reports, extensions, and reconciliation requirements while maintaining functional ownership of the end-to-end solution.
- Define and lead testing strategies, including system integration testing, regression testing, user acceptance testing, conversion validation, and financial reconciliation.
- Support cutover planning, deployment readiness, go-live activities, hypercare, knowledge transfer, and transition to Managed Services.
Project & Delivery Management
- Own the delivery plan, scope, schedule, budget, resource plan, milestones, dependencies, and acceptance criteria for assigned engagements.
- Apply appropriate Waterfall, Agile, or hybrid project-management practices based on the client environment and engagement objectives.
- Establish governance routines, lead project status meetings, prepare executive reporting, and communicate progress, decisions, risks, issues, and required actions clearly.
- Monitor project financials, including revenue, margin, burn, utilization, bill rates, estimates to complete, and overall engagement profitability.
- Manage client and internal expectations while protecting solution quality, contractual commitments, and long-term customer relationships.
- Build trusted-advisor relationships by understanding the client's business, communicating candidly, and connecting technology decisions to measurable outcomes.
- Support resource planning, onboarding, performance feedback, and capability development across the Oracle Cloud practice.
- Participate in discovery calls, solution workshops, demonstrations, oral presentations, and client meetings as a functional and delivery subject-matter expert.
- Contribute to RFP/RFI responses, proposals, statements of work, project estimates, staffing plans, assumptions, timelines, and pricing inputs.
- Translate customer requirements into a practical delivery approach that clearly defines scope, responsibilities, dependencies, risks, and outcomes.
- Support account growth by identifying follow-on opportunities, optimization needs, new Oracle capabilities, and Managed Services requirements.
- Contribute to reusable methodologies, templates, accelerators, case studies, presentations, webinars, and thought-leadership content.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 10+ years of ERP consulting experience, including substantial experience with Oracle applications and enterprise financial processes.
- 5+ years of hands-on Oracle ERP Cloud / Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications functional experience.
- Demonstrated leadership on at least three full lifecycle Oracle ERP Cloud implementations, reimplementations, or major transformation programs.
- Strong functional expertise across Oracle Financials, with hands-on depth in at least two major modules and working knowledge of related subledgers and upstream/downstream processes.
- Proven experience managing project scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, issues, change control, and executive communications.
- Experience leading both onsite and remote teams in client-facing consulting environments.
- Excellent facilitation, negotiation, problem-solving, organization, and written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Oracle ERP Cloud certification in one or more Financials, Procurement, or Project Financial Management modules.
- PMP, PMI-ACP, Scrum, or comparable project-management certification.
- Accounting, controllership, or finance-transformation experience.
- Experience delivering solutions for public sector, higher education, healthcare, utilities, or commercial organizations.
- Experience supporting presales, proposals, effort estimation, and account expansion.
