Job summary

Oracle Corporation in Seattle is seeking an experienced Oracle Database Engineer to lead the management of large-scale Oracle DB fleets and drive 19c performance tuning. You will design architecture, implement security standards, and build automation tooling using Python and Shell scripts.

The role requires 6–8 years of Oracle DB experience, deep 19c expertise (RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, ASM), and strong leadership with cross-functional collaboration. Strong English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a related field.
• 6–8 years of Oracle Database Engineering, Administration, SRE experience.
• Deep expertise with Oracle 19c including RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, ASM, SQL optimization, HA/DR design.
• Strong Python and/or Shell scripting for automation, diagnostics, monitoring, and tooling.
• Proven leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English in a demanding environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering and operational management for highly available, large-scale Oracle DB fleets.
• Drive Oracle 19c performance analysis, tuning, diagnostics, and reliability improvements.
• Design and implement database architecture, access methods, and security standards.
• Build scalable fleet-management automation using Python and/or Shell scripting.
• Lead upgrades, patches, and architectural changes for databases.
• Define long-range capacity, availability, and operational requirements with OCI owners.
• Lead incident response, root-cause analysis, and prevention for production issues.
• Mentor engineers, review designs, and establish runbooks and best practices.
• Collaborate with Compute, Storage, Networking, Governance, and other OCI teams.
