Job summary

A.I.S., Inc. (AIS) is seeking an Oracle Application Developer/DBA to centralize scientific data and build front-end applications for NOAA staff and external partners. The role focuses on Oracle RDBMS, ETL workflows, data quality, and secure data portals.

You will work with GIS folks and federal data standards, delivering scalable database schemas and data-driven web tools within a full-time, on-site role in Pascagoula, MS.

Qualifications

• MS or BS with 5 years of relevant experience.
• Translate scientific processes into ER data models.
• Write complex PL/SQL procedures and edit-approval workflows.
• RBAC knowledge for differentiated access.
• Create data dictionaries and technical docs.
• Expert Oracle RDBMS (12c/19c+); PostgreSQL/SQL Server a plus.
• Experience with Oracle APEX or Java/Python/.NET.
• ETL scripting in Python, PL/SQL, Informatica or FME.
• Frontend: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, AJAX.
• Version control: Git/GitHub/GitLab.

Responsibilities

• Analyze disparate data sources and design ETL workflows to centralize data.
• Develop parsing algorithms for data migration and integrity.
• Implement data validation rules during ingestion.
• Design and maintain relational schemas for survey data.
• Optimize performance with indexing, partitioning, and tuning.
• Apply RBAC for secure access and protect PII.
• Develop internal web app for NOAA staff to input, query, edit live data.
• Build secure external portal for partners to view/input data.
• Manage staging-commit workflow with review gates.
• Support SEFSC surveys with data analyses, summaries, reports.
• Participate in outreach, meetings, and public forums as required.
