Job summary

Lynker Technologies seeks a Database and Applications Developer to support NOAA Fisheries' SEFSC PEMD and SEAMAP initiatives. The role focuses on centralizing scientific data, designing robust database architectures, creating automated data pipelines, and building secure applications for NOAA staff and external partners.

The position involves ETL workflows, data validation, and front-end development to enable internal data management and external data input.

Qualifications

Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field; or Bachelor’s degree plus five years of relevant experience.
Ability to translate real-world scientific processes into logical data models and ER diagrams.
Strong PL/SQL development and experience with stored procedures, triggers, and packages.
Knowledge of RBAC and secure data access controls.
Experience with ETL workflows and data migration to Oracle Enterprise environments.
Experience with front-end tech: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, AJAX.
Proficiency with Git version control.

Responsibilities

Bring together diverse scientific and administrative data across legacy systems.
Build data pipelines to centralize survey data.
Design database architecture for centralized data.
Develop secure front-end applications for internal and external users.
Analyze disparate data sources including flat files, databases, and APIs.
Design ETL workflows to migrate data into Oracle Enterprise environment.
Implement data validation and data integrity checks.
Maintain relational schemas for fisheries and oceanographic data.
Optimize queries with indexing and partitioning.
Ensure compliance with data security and PII protection.
