Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health in New Jersey seeks an OR Tech III to join the Operating Room team at Jersey City Medical Center on the night shift. You will assist the perioperative team, prepare the sterile field, and help ensure patient safety during surgical procedures.

Required: high school diploma or equivalent, Surgical Technician program, NBSTSA certification, and BLS. 2–3 years scrubbing multiple service lines in a fast-paced environment are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a Surgical Technician training program.
• NBSTSA certification required for surgical techs.
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist perioperative team to organize and provide age-specific patient care.

Pay Range: $31.41 - $38.42 per hour

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview

In collaboration with the perioperative registered nurse, the surgical technician will function as a member of the team to organize and administer individualizes age specific care to patients, maintain an environment that facilitates safe patient outcomes, and ensure patient’s physiologic responses to surgery are as expected in the surgical suite and across the perioperative division.

Qualifications

Required

• HighSchooldiplomaorequivalent
• Completion of an Surgical Technician training program
• 2 – 3 years of experience
• Must have strong knowledge with skill being able to scrub the following service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbally and written)
• Must be able to make calls. Must be flexible, able to multitask and be able to work independently

Certifications and Licenses Required

• Certified Surgical Technician (NBSTSA) required
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification required with American Heart Association
