Job summary

University of California - Los Angeles Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Tech to support the operating room team. You will complete surgical set-ups, maintain the sterile field, and assist with instrument handling according to physician preference cards.

Under direct supervision, you will prep supplies, ensure aseptic technique, and participate in call shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. Strong attention to safety and regulatory standards is required to protect patients.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited Surgical Technician program or relevant years of experience.
• BLS from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association is required.
• Surgical Technician certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and operating room equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile field and maintain asepsis throughout surgery.
• Assist with instrument handling and equipment setup.
• Read and follow physician preference cards and department standards.
• Participate in call shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ensure patient safety and compliance with hospital standards.
