Responsibilities

Essential Functions
- Counseling patients and scheduling surgeries for multiple physicians.
- Scheduling surgeries and working with primary care physicians daily to ensure each patient has their history and physicals completed prior to surgery.
- Maintaining relationships with physician offices through their staff.
- Completing all necessary paperwork for each procedure on the physicians’ schedule.
- Pre‑certifying any procedures on the schedule.
- Being capable of multi‑tasking and working with a diverse patient population.
- Providing back‑up support for the Front Office as needed.
- Performing other duties as required.
Education & Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience scheduling appointments and/or surgeries.
- Experience with insurance verification processes and business office functions.
Knowledge
- Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of managed care contracts and utilization management.
- Knowledge of computer systems, programs, and spreadsheet applications.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with scheduling software.
Skills
- Gathering and reporting claim information.
- Solving utilization problems.
- Written and verbal communication with strong customer relations.
- Experience in a surgical facility as a scheduler.
- Fast and accurate data entry.
- Service‑oriented patient demeanor.
- Ability to multi‑task, manage time effectively, and deliver results.
- Strict attention to detail.
- Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
