Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Perioperative Attendant at Fairfield Hospital to support surgical teams and ensure efficient room turnover. You will assist with patient positioning, instrument handling, and transport while maintaining a clean operating room environment.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, with preference for BLS certification and perioperative experience. Teamwork and attention to detail are essential in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care).
• One-year perioperative experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Performs daily set-up of the surgical suites and room turnover between cases, maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
• Assists with patient positioning, lifting and transfers; performs sterile holds as needed.
• Restocks and maintains supplies for surgery/anesthesia; reports shortages to supervisor.
• Sets up equipment and positioning devices for surgery; reports broken/missing equipment.
• Transports patients between departments and prepares clean inpatient beds as needed.
• Responds to requests and runs errands within the department.
• Performs patient POCT and daily quality control checks on POCT devices.
