Job summary

Northwestern Medical Center is seeking an Operating Room Aide for the OR, full-time, generally Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The role supports surgical teams by ensuring supplies and equipment readiness and by cleaning rooms after procedures. This position is on-site at our St. Albans location, VT.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, a VT Licensed Nursing Assistant license preferred, and basic computer and typing skills. BLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; VT LNA license preferred.
• Experience in medical field is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Basic computer skills and typing are plus points.

Responsibilities

• Aides with anesthesia-related supplies and assists with anesthesia needs.
• Maintains supply levels in anesthesia and specialty carts.
• Transports stretchers and beds for operating rooms.
• Prints preference cards, picks cases and assembles case carts.
• Maintains supplies and organization of equipment room; stocks PPE and linens.
• Assists with cleaning operating rooms after cases per Infection Control guidelines.
• Supports turnover and equipment management in Surgical Services Central Sterile when schedule allows.
• Other duties as assigned by charge nurse or OR manager.
