Job summary

Northwestern Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room for a full-time, on-site position in St. Albans, VT. Hours are 6:30a-5p, with evening and weekend call rotations. This role supports a high reliability team and offers a generous benefits package.

Qualifications include VT RN license or compact state, BLS and ACLS within 6 months, and Surgical Services orientation. PALS encouraged. Reports to the Director of Surgical Services.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• VT RN license or Compact State RN.

Responsibilities

• In the OR RN provides safe nursing care with independence and acts as charge nurse.
• Communicates with patients, team, and management; documents accurately and timely.
• Applies critical thinking; organizes multitask workload and prioritizes patient care.
• Develops and maintains human care relationships; advocates for patient needs and collaborates with care team.
• Manages self and resources; seeks assistance when needed and maintains an orderly care environment.
• Applies leadership within the perioperative team and adheres to standards and policies.
• Provides patient education and supports health promotion activities.
