Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing liaison to strengthen the collaboration with the Operating Room, anticipate needs, and ensure efficient case completion with a focus on patient safety.

You will work to bridge gaps between SPD and OR, utilizing problem-solving and critical thinking to support surgeon satisfaction and high-quality care in a dynamic perioperative setting.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited sterile processing or surgical technology course; online programs without hands-on instruction not accepted.
• In lieu of the course, 5 years' SPD or OR experience required.
• 3 years of experience in the Peri-Operative environment including SPD and OR experience required.
• 3 years case cart knowledge and experience required.
• Experience with Instrument Management Tracking systems, preferably Microsystems (SPM).
• In lieu of degree, an additional 5 years of SPD or OR experience required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate a close working relationship between Sterile Processing and the Operating Room.
• Bridge the gap to ensure surgeon satisfaction and case completion, and maintain interdepartmental communication for patient safety.
