Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist/Instrument Tech to coordinate daily OR and Sterile Processing operations in Winston-Salem. The role focuses on instrument flow, case cart accuracy, and interdepartmental liaison to ensure smooth case throughput.

Required are hospital Sterile Processing experience and relevant Certifications; associate degree or CST credentialing preferred. This is a full-time second shift position with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of OR workflow, instrumentation and supplies.
• Proficient analytical skills.
• Ability to multi-task and stay organized.
• Ability to read and follow Standard Operating Procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manages flow of materials between the OR and SPD; organizes daily instrument activities.
• Ensures accurate case carts with OR coordinators.
• Monitors instrument needs and communicates requirements.
• Plans instrument turnarounds and addresses issues affecting start times.
• Acts as liaison between OR and SPD and related teams.
• Develops training and development plans for surgical instrumentation.
