Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Cross Functional Associate to support operating rooms and sterile processing. You will help with instrument processing, room turnover, supplies, and safety compliance while assisting with patient positioning and transport.

The role requires teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to varying tasks. Training and certification requirements may apply. This position is based at our Pennsylvania facilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience/training; or equivalent combination.
• Internet email software, McKesson PHS skills: strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize tasks.
• Adaptability and willingness to perform a variety of tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation in OR and SPD by assisting with room turnover and cleaning procedures.
• Completes tasks in SPD under direct supervision.
• Anticipates equipment needs and transports equipment to and from the OR.
• Maintains supply levels and restocks areas for upcoming cases.
• Assists with patient positioning and safe transport in the OR and to the morgue as needed.
• Follows safety protocols and uses PPE.
• Transports specimens to the lab and follows patient ID protocols.
• Obtains and returns blood products from Blood Bank.
• Other duties as assigned.
