Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to decontaminate, clean, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments. You will monitor cycles, document results, and deliver sterile items efficiently to care areas.

The role requires CRCST or CSPDT at hire (with some exceptions), at least 1 year in sterile processing, and strict adherence to safety and HIPAA policies. On-site position with training provided.

Qualifications

• Requires CRCST or CSPDT at hire with exceptions for early hires.
• 1 year of experience in sterile processing.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort contaminated instruments from departments.
• Disassemble, clean, and inspect instruments for function and damage.
• Assemble instrument sets and wrap for sterilization.
• Monitor sterilization cycles and verify parameters.
• Maintain records of cycles and deliveries to departments.
• Operate automated decontamination equipment and troubleshoot minor issues.
• Follow PPE and infection control policies; ensure clean work area.
• Assist in training new staff and adhere to job guidelines.
