Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Cross Functional Associate to support operating rooms and sterile processing. You will assist with instrument processing, room turnover, supply management, and safe transport of equipment and patients while following safety and HIPAA guidelines.

The role requires teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Compliance with CPR, background checks, and privacy policies is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with Internet email software and McKesson PHS.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to varied tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with instrument processing and SPD tasks under supervision.
• Support room turnover, cleaning, and sanitation per protocols.
• Anticipate equipment needs and transport to the OR as needed.
• Restock supplies and prepare rooms for upcoming cases.
• Assist with patient positioning, identification, and safe transport to/from OR.
• Follow safety protocols and use PPE.
• Transport specimens to the lab and handle blood products per procedures.
• Support patient care staff and perform other duties as assigned.
