Job summary

Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a Procedure Scheduler for the Peri-operative Service Area to coordinate daily scheduling of operating rooms and procedure rooms using the scheduling system. You will ensure final anesthesia providers are listed, coordinate multiple surgeons, and manage pre-operative testing appointments.

The role requires strong organization, detail-orientation, and solid communication skills.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent in healthcare administration or related field; 2 years hospital scheduling experience OR 5 years in hospital scheduling without degree.
• Detail oriented, well organized, works well in a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create daily OR and procedure room schedules based on room availability and equipment.
• Add final anesthesia providers and ensure they appear on the next day’s schedule.
• Coordinate surgeon cases, monitor physician privileges, and manage multi-surgeon scheduling.
• Schedule pre-operative testing appointments and provide patient information.
