HCA Florida St. Lucie Hospital in Port St. Lucie, FL, is seeking an experienced RN for operating room support. RNs will evaluate patients pre-surgery, provide education, manage IV therapy and preoperative meds, and participate in site verification and universal protocols.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support required within 30 days of start date.
• RN (Registered Nurse) with current license.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide preoperative education to patient and family.
• Prepare patient for surgery including IV therapy and preoperative meds.
• Assist with surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered perioperative care.
• Collaborate with surgeons, techs and interdisciplinary team.
• Apply nursing process with clinical judgment and leadership.
• Monitor patient condition and document changes.
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment and follow-up.
