Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a perioperative RN in Des Moines, IA to provide intraoperative care as a scrub and circulating nurse. This full-time position requires call, weekends, nights and holidays as scheduled.

You will prepare for cases, maintain aseptic technique and assist with turnover, while documenting findings and communicating with the surgical team. An Iowa RN license and OR experience are preferred; BLS within six weeks and mandatory reporter training are required.

Qualifications

• Possession of a current or compact state RN license.
• Operating Room experience preferred.
• BLS certification within six weeks of hire.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association.
• Mandatory Reporter abuse training completed within three months of hire.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Scrubs and circulates on cases independently with minimal direction.
• Prepares for surgical cases efficiently, anticipating needs of patient and team.
• Maintains aseptic technique and creates a safe environment for patient and staff.
• Collects data and assesses patient to support nursing diagnoses.
• Communicates effectively with patient, staff, physicians and families.
• Maintains knowledge of equipment setup and function; directs room turnover.
