Job summary

Prime Healthcare in Riverdale, GA is seeking an Operating Room RN to provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care before, during, and after surgery at Southern Regional Medical Center. The role collaborates with surgeons and the team to ensure patient safety, prepares patients for procedures, and administers pre-operative medications.

Responsibilities include prepping the OR, patient positioning, documenting intraoperative details, and maintaining infection control in a sterile environment.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• BLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS (AHA) certification within 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• PALS (AHA) certification within 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year perioperative experience or on-the-job training.
• CNOR Certification (AORN) preferred.
• BSN preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of strong OR experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room, ensure cleanliness of the environment and that equipment functions properly.
• Assist in preparing the patient for surgery, verify identity and surgical site, help position the patient and complete pre-operative procedures.
• Document vital signs, medications administered and other details in the patient medical record.
• Maintain a safe and sterile operating room by following infection control protocols and proper instrument handling procedures.
• Maintain a safe and sterile environment in the operating room by adhering to strict infection control protocols and ensure that team members follow proper procedures for handling instruments and equipment.
