Job summary

Tucson Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Main Operating Room on the 11a-11p shift. An acute care background is required, with preference for OR experience and BLS certification.

The unit features diverse specialties and 24/7 OR staffing, with a $15,000 sign-on for qualified applicants. The RN coordinates patient care with multiple disciplines, writes care plans, and ensures safety and quality throughout perioperative care.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of direct patient care and critical care procedures.
• Ability to read 12-lead EKG and interpret results.
• Strong communication with staff, physicians, and families.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced OR environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Main OR and ensure safety.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary team and follow nursing process.
• Document patient histories and care plans; review shift reports.
• Notify physicians of unusual events and adjust care as needed.
• Maintain aseptic technique and manage IVs when required.
• Educate patients and families; ensure discharge instructions.
• Adhere to TMCH safety policies and department standards.
