Job summary

Cullman Regional Medical Center Inc. seeks an experienced perioperative nurse to perform circulating duties, assist with scrubbing as needed, and support the operating team throughout procedures. You will prepare ORs and instruments, position patients, and monitor patient status before, during, and after surgery.

Required is an Associate degree in Nursing with a valid Alabama nursing license; BSN is preferred. Minimum medication test compliance and healthcare provider BLS completion are expected.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in nursing; Alabama RN license required; BSN preferred.
• Successful completion of basic life support - healthcare provider.
• One year of OR experience preferred; must pass medication test.

Responsibilities

• Perform circulating functions: monitoring, recording, and communicating patient condition before, during and after procedures.
• Perform scrub functions with instruments and supplies as experience permits.
• Directly assist operating physician with hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure.
• Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments/equipment for use.
• Assist with patient positioning and ensure safety throughout procedures.

Job Summary:Performs circulating functions including monitoring, recording, and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of patient before, during and after procedure.Performs scrub functions including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedure if experience permits.Directly assists operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure, as well as patient positioning.Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.Education:Associate degree or higher in nursing from an accredited school of nursing and current license by Alabama Board of Nursing required. BSN degree preferred. Successful completion of basic life support - healthcare provider in all units.Experience:One year of experience preferred. Must pass medication test.Additional Skills/Abilities:Possess excellent interpersonal skills sufficient to interact with guests. Proficient oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills required.
