Job summary

Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma, Alabama, is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Surgery team. Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license in the state of practice.
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS within facility policy time frames.
• BSN preferred; perioperative nursing experience is a plus.
• Minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience; perioperative/surgical services experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers patient-centered nursing care based on standards and the nursing process.
• Administers medications and treatments per policy.
• Documents all aspects of patient care clearly and accurately.
• Monitors, evaluates, and communicates patient condition to care team, patient, and family.

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse - Surgery (RN-Surgery) provides direct and comprehensive nursing care to surgical patients within an acute care hospital setting. Utilizing the nursing process, the RN-Surgery assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal outcomes. This role supports surgical interventions across all age groups and ensures patient safety, comfort, and education throughout the perioperative process.

Essential Functions

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required within time frame specified in facility policy)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (required within time frame specified in facility policy)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (required within timeframe specified in facility policy)

Experience

• Minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience preferred
• Previous perioperative or surgical services experience strongly preferred
