Job summary

Penn Medicine in New Jersey is seeking an experienced RN First Assistant (RNFA) to provide direct patient care in the perioperative setting under supervision. You will collaborate with surgeons and the operating team to deliver high-quality care.

The role requires intraoperative competency, asepsis, and safety protocol adherence, with a 7am-5pm shift (4x10’s) and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• NJ RN license required.
• ACLS and BCLS required.
• Completion of AORN RNFA course required.
• Perioperative nursing competency and collaboration with surgical team.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with physicians and healthcare team to develop and implement a perioperative plan of care.
• Acts as first assistant to surgeons during operative procedures.
• Maintains asepsis and infection control principles in the OR.
• Ensures proper patient positioning, prepping, and draping per physician protocol.
• Maintains certifications and participates in ongoing education to enhance clinical skills.
