Virtua Health is seeking a Surgical Assistant to support surgeons in the operating room. The role involves exposure, hemostasis, closure, and intraoperative support, along with pre/postoperative duties to ensure optimal patient care.

The position requires a Bachelor of Science or higher degree (or MD), RNFA/PA credentials, and NJ licensure, with at least one year of OR theater experience. The role is part-time, per diem, and on-site with a $73.50 hourly rate.

Qualifications

• One year of Operating Room theater experience required.
• RNFA/PA licensure and NJ license are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in positioning patient and ensuring comfort and safety.
• Maintain exposure and visualization of surgical site.
• Assist with hemostasis and tissue handling.
• Assist with closure of body planes and proper instrumentation.
• Complete all documentation after the case.
