Job summary

Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park, Kansas is seeking an OR Radiology Technologist to support surgical imaging. Under the supervision of the Radiology Director and Medical Director, you will operate radiologic equipment to produce radiographs for diagnostic and intraoperative purposes.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm with required call: one weekend every 7 weeks and other on-call days. Candidates must graduate from an accredited program, hold an active Kansas license and ARRT

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program.
• Current Kansas license required on hire.
• ARRT registry current; BCLS/BLS.
• Knowledge of radiology operations related to surgical imaging including sterile technique and radiation safety.
• Preferred 1 year OR radiology technology experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate radiologic equipment to produce radiographs for diagnostic purposes as directed by physicians.
• Half time on fluoroscopic and radiographic procedures in surgery; other time imaging inpatients/ER and outpatient services.
• Assist in implementing policies to meet accrediting agencies' regulations.
• Interface with departments, physicians, staff, patients, families, and radiology personnel as needed.
• Perform radiologic technologist duties, including call rotation coverage and assisting radiologists and other technologists.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Underthe supervision of the Radiology Director, Medical Director and Radiology Manager, radiologic equipment operates to produce radiographs of the body for diagnostic purposes, as directed by the Physician.

• Fiftypercentof time for this position involves aspects of the performance of fluoroscopic and radiographic procedures in surgery.The other fifty percent oftime for this position involves a wide variety of imaging procedures with inpatients/ ER, and outpatient services.
• Assistswith implementation of policies and procedures to meet the various accrediting agencies’ regulations and laws.
• Responsible forinterfacing with other departments, physicians and their office staff, patients, families, visitors, Radiologyschooland Radiology employees as needed.
• Performsduties of radiologic technologist, including call rotation coverage.
• Assistradiologists and other department technologists in performing exams and procedures as needed.

• Graduate of an accredited program by the commission on accreditation of allied health education programs, American MedicalAssociation or other accrediting agencies
• Current license with the Kansas Board of Healing Arts (either temporary or permanent)required upon hire.
• Registry By American RegistryofRadiologic Technology (ARRT). Must Be CurrentinBasic Life Support / BCLS.
• Knowledge Of Radiology Operations RelatedtoRadiographic Imagingof SurgicalProcedures Including sterile technique, radiation safety, CR/PACS, C-arm merge boxes.
• Preferred1-yearRelated Work Experience as a Radiologic Technologist in the Operating Room.
• StrongInterpersonalskillsto train,maintain competence, and confidence in radiologic technologists and students working in the operating rooms.
• Ability to effectively communicatewithawide rangeof individuals including physicians.
