Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Perioperative Attendant at Lourdes Hospital to assist clinical staff and support the delivery of surgical/procedural services under RN guidance. Duties include OR setup, patient positioning, equipment management, and interdepartmental transport.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Licensing & Certifications: BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain prior to direct patient care).
• Experience: One-year perioperative experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Performs daily set-up of the surgical suites and room turnover between cases, maintaining a clean and orderly work area throughout the OR.
• Assists with patient positioning, lifting and transfers; performs sterile holds as needed.
• Restocks and maintains supplies and linens needed for surgery and/or anesthesia; reports shortages to supervisor.
• Sets up equipment and positioning devices; reports broken or missing equipment to supervisor.
• Transports patients between departments and ensures clean inpatient beds as needed.
• Responds to requests including errands and item retrieval from other departments.
• Performs patient POCT and daily quality control on POCT devices.
