Job summary

Nebraska Medicine in Omaha seeks a Nurse Supervisor for OR-based services (Surg Onc/Plastics/Head & Neck/URO/GYN/Eyes) to join the First Shift leadership team. You will oversee day-to-day patient care operations, serve as a clinical expert, and mentor staff on technical skills and priorities.

Requirements include an RN license in Nebraska (or a compact state), a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, BLS, and ACLS/NRP as department needs.

Qualifications

• Two years of recent RN experience in a relevant unit.
• Two years of experience as a clinical expert/mentor and in staff development.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.
• Strong leadership, planning and organizational skills are essential.
• Ability to work independently with attention to detail and sound judgment.
• Currently licensed as an RN in Nebraska or have a compact state license.
• BLS certification from an American Heart Association-endorsed program.
• NRP and/or ACLS per department requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day patient care operations for the designated OR unit.
• Serve as a clinical expert and mentor to staff; model and train on technical skills.
• Prioritize daily work, guide non-routine issues, and support staff with escalated concerns.
• Provide guidance and participate in performance appraisals and disciplinary actions as needed.
