Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
• Current Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing.
• Certified in Basic Life Support; additional certifications may be required based on unit requirements.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Delivers safe and appropriate care to patients, according to the nursing skills inventory and patient age/needs.
• Coordinates planning of nursing care with an interdisciplinary team and makes clinical decisions.
• Collaborates with the healthcare team to achieve positive outcomes based on evidence and standards of care.
• Develops discharge and transfer plans; participates in program evaluation and quality improvement.
• Upholds regulatory standards and Memorial Hermann policies and budget considerations.
