Job summary

TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center in Murfreesboro, TN offers a Nurse Residency Program for licensed RNs with no OR experience to develop perioperative competencies in a five-month internship. Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing (state of hire).
• BLS/ACLS within 30 days of employment start date.
• 1 year RN experience required (any specialty).
• Eligibility for licensure in TN or KY as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process.
• Assume responsibility for patient preparation, including intravenous therapy and preoperative medications.
• Participate in surgical site verification, including briefing and time out.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while adhering to evidence-based practices.
