Job summary

TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center offers a Nurse Residency Program for Licensed RNs with no prior OR experience, located in Nashville area coverage across multiple TriStar facilities. Interns complete didactic modules, lab, and 5 months of clinical hours under a preceptor in the hired unit.

Participants will rotate through circulating and scrub roles as they develop perioperative competencies, with regular progress checks and orientation evaluations.

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in good standing in TN or KY.
• Completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of start date.
• Program targets RNs with no OR experience or non-surgical backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery and educate families.
• Assist in perioperative care under supervision of the preceptor.
• Maintain patient safety and documentation throughout procedures.
• Participate in orientation, preceptorship, and competency validation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to ensure smooth workflow.
