Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Nurse Manager for the Main Operating Room to lead a large, high-volume perioperative service within a Level I Trauma Center and Burn Center setting. This role emphasizes safe patient care, operational excellence, staff engagement, and strong clinical outcomes across 27 ORs.

Responsibilities include staffing, workflow optimization, safety culture, and adherence to Mercy standards, with a focus on development of a highly skilled perioperative team.

Qualifications

• Current RN license
• BSN degree required
• Progressive perioperative leadership experience required
• Master's degree preferred
• CNOR certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of a complex, high-volume surgical services department.
• Develop staffing plans, schedules, and resource allocation to support patient care needs.
• Foster a culture of safety, quality, patient satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with interdisciplinary teams to improve workflow, remove barriers, and enhance care delivery.
• Monitor quality metrics and implement evidence-based practices to achieve exceptional outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards.
• Recruit, develop, coach, and retain a highly engaged perioperative team.
• Support professional development, competency management, and performance excellence.
• Align departmental goals with Nursing Strategic Plans.
