Job summary

UW Medical Center-Northwest in Seattle is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager/RN3 for the Main Operating Room. This full-time position supports leadership duties, coordinates staffing, and collaborates with the Nurse Manager and peers.

Candidates must hold an active Washington RN license (or multistate), have BSN (Masters preferred) and at least two years in professional surgical nursing, with OR experience highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Current Washington State RN license or multistate license.
• Surgical Scrub experience strongly preferred.
• BSN required; Masters preferred.
• Minimum of two years of professional surgical nursing experience or equivalent.
• Operating Room nursing with perioperative proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality patient care (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Coordinate care across departments for optimal outcomes.
• Serve as clinical resource and role model for nursing staff.
• Support staff education, onboarding and ongoing competency development.
• Assist with daily operations, including patient flow and staffing coordination.
• Promote effective communication among patients, families and care team.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain standards of care.
• Provide guidance, feedback and support to team members.
• Serve as charge nurse as assigned and participate in committees as needed.
• Assist with unit goals, program development and process improvements.
