Job summary

MercyOne in Iowa is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide perioperative care in the intraoperative phase, serving neonate to geriatric patients. The role involves scrubbing and circulating on cases, with required call, weekends, nights and holidays.

You will prepare for surgeries, maintain aseptic technique, communicate with the team and families, and help with room turnover. A current OR-appropriate nursing license and BLS are required; English proficiency is essential.

Qualifications

• Current or compact state RN license.
• Operating Room experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification within six weeks of hire.
• Mandatory Reporter abuse training completed within three months.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Scrubs and circulates on cases independently with minimal direction.
• Prepares for surgical cases efficiently, anticipating needs.
• Maintains aseptic technique and a safe environment in OR.
• Collects and analyzes patient data to support nursing diagnoses.
• Communicates with patient, staff, physicians and families.
• Directs room cleanup and turnover.
