Job summary

Baptist Health in Jacksonville, FL seeks an experienced Operating Room Liaison to support the Main Operating Room at Baptist Medical Center Downtown. This full-time days position runs Monday through Friday, 6:30am to 3:00pm, and prefers candidates with Surgical Technologist and Sterile Processing Technician experience.

You will coordinate daily activities between the OR and Central Sterile Services to improve case flow, assist in projects and training, and uphold aseptic standards and safety.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years Surgical Technologist experience.
• High school diploma required.
• CRCST certification within one year.
• CSPDT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and oversees daily activities between the operating room and central sterile services to facilitate efficient case flow.
• Assists in projects and process improvement initiatives in compliance with policies and procedures.
• Promotes customer service and satisfaction through training, education, and resolution of staff and physician issues.

This position will be a full time days position at out Downtown Campus with Monday through Friday 6:30am to 3:00pm. This position prefers both Surgical Technologist and Sterile Processing Technician knowledge and experience.As an Operating Room Liaison, your responsibilities will include:Coordinates and oversees daily activities between the Operating Room (OR) and Central Sterile Services Department to facilitate efficient case flow.Assists in projects and process improvement initiatives in compliance with policies and procedures, goals, objectives and initiatives.Promotes customer service and satisfaction through training, education, and resolution of staff and physician issues and concerns.Maintains knowledge of cleaning, assembling, packaging, & sterilization of instruments and equipment according to the IFUs, A.A.M.I, and IACHSMM current standards.Demonstrates awareness of personal and work area safety at all times; using evidence based practices and complying with facility safety policies and procedures in carrying out duties including those for blood borne pathogens and communicable diseases.Must keep knowledge current on aseptic techniques and basic microbiology sufficient to understand the ways diseases and infections are transmitted and the importance of clean and sterile supplies in patient care;Attend training in new and improved sterilization practices and developments in the microbiology, bacteriology, and therapeutic practices as they affect the sterile supply operation.Sterilizes OR instrumentation in the OR area.Experience Requirements:1-2 years Surgical Technologist ExperienceEducation & Credential Requirements:High School Diploma RequiredCertified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) within one yearCertification Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) PreferredThis Operating Room Liaison supporting the Main Operating Room will be located at Baptist Jacksonville.
