Job summary

Stryker is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Specialist to support surgical procedures by managing and maintaining OR equipment, and by anticipating device needs of the OR team.

The role involves troubleshooting devices, training staff on equipment, documenting usage and data, and ensuring HIPAA-compliant handling of patient information. Travel 5-10% may be required; experience in sterile processing is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certifications preferred.
• Operating Room experience and anatomy knowledge preferred.
• CRCST certification within 6 months for Sterile Processing specialists.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to stand/walk for extended periods.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Adhere to HIPAA and confidentiality policies.
• Travel 5-10% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical surgical support by managing all relevant equipment.
• Anticipates device needs for the OR staff and surgeon during procedures.
• Troubleshoots and maintains Stryker equipment and related devices.
• Works with surgeons, OR personnel, central processing, biomedical, and others.
• Maintains knowledge base of equipment and disposables via Stryker training.
• Provides physicians and OR personnel with information on new/current products.
• Records and reports data metrics monthly for job functions.
• Maintains up-to-date account information to ensure high service levels.
• Records and reports all surgical procedure information accurately.
• Adheres to Stryker and facility policies and procedures.
• Analyzes and resolves routine/non-routine product issues with independent judgment.
• Provides on-call services as required by the medical facility.
