Job summary

EVS Tech in the OR is seeking an Environmental Services Technician I to perform general and specialized cleaning in patient rooms, offices, hallways and other assigned areas of the hospital. You will assist the environmental services department with moving furniture, furnishings, and equipment as needed.

Responsibilities include floor care, moving heavy items, setting up event spaces, and performing custodial duties when not involved in moving projects, all while complying with safety, infection

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, understand and speak English at a level that enables the individual to perform the functions of the job satisfactorily.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties of the Environmental Services Technician I.
• Buffs, strips, waxes and polishes floors.
• Moves furniture and other heavy objects as required.
• Moves, removes, and relocates furniture, furnishings, equipment, etc. as directed.
• Shampoos rugs and furniture. Cleans vents, fans, and other equipment using vacuum machines.
• Operates mechanical floor cleaners, polishers, and vacuums.
• Sets up chairs and tables, etc. for special events and folds and stores them after the event.
• Moves large items in and out of storage.
• Performs custodial/housekeeping duties as assigned when not involved in moving projects.
• Assists in handing drapes and dividers and takes them down for cleaning.
