McPherson Hospital, Inc. in McPherson, KS is seeking an Environmental Technician (EVS) to support a clean, safe, and patient-centered environment.

The EVS Technician will assist with indoor environments, including waste management, and perform routine cleaning and sanitation as assigned. The position is PRN (as needed) with responsibilities to maintain infection control standards, coordinate daily task lists, report shortages or issues, and uphold the hospital's CARE values.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred 2 years’ experience in similar field.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a team setting or independently.
• Prioritization and time management skills and adequate communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Cleans assigned areas to meet infection control and compliance standards and assists team members in completion of tasks.
• Creates daily job lists and records all serviced rooms; reports any shortages, damages, or security issues.
• Maintains equipment in good condition.
• Handles reasonable guests’ complaints/requests and informs others when required, and fosters an environment that exemplifies the Hospital’s Mission, Vision, and C.A.R.E values.

Job Description: Environmental Technician (EVS)

The EVS Technician assists with departmental goals to ensure a safe, secure, and comfortable environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This position will directly handle and monitor indoor environments including waste and bio-waste for collection, transportation, and storing. Other duties include the performance, coordination, and/or assistance of routine cleaning, sanitation and other housekeeping tasks as assigned.
