Job summary

IU Health Fort Wayne Ambulatory Surgery Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana, is seeking an experienced RN OR Clinical Coordinator to provide clinical leadership and operational support for our ambulatory surgery services, while continuing to participate in patient care as circulating and/or scrubbing as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires an ASN and active RN license in Indiana.
• BSN preferred.
• OR experience strongly preferred.
• Leadership experience in OR settings (Charge Nurse/Team Lead/Clinical Coordinator) preferred.
• Endoscopy/GI experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a clinical leader, resource, and mentor for perioperative staff while maintaining direct patient care responsibilities.
• Function as charge nurse as needed and assist with daily operational oversight, staffing assignments, and workflow coordination.
• Coordinate surgical services by ensuring room readiness, reviewing schedules for staffing or equipment conflicts, and supporting efficient case flow.
• Monitor supplies, inventory, and departmental compliance activities to promote a safe and effective surgical environment.
• Assist with quality, documentation, and operational improvement initiatives, including charting and charge corrections as needed.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, staff development, coaching, and performance management in collaboration with leadership.
• Participate in leadership meetings and partner with the Clinical Manager and Director to support departmental goals, patient outcomes, and team engagement.
• Serve as a role model who fosters teamwork, communication, accountability, and exceptional patient care.
