Job summary

Aurora Health Care in Downtown Milwaukee, WI is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room Circulator to join a 14-bed OR suite handling orthopedic, gynecologic, general, bariatric, robotic, urology, plastics, dental and ECT cases. You’ll provide direct perioperative care, coordinate with the surgical team, and support discharge planning.

The role emphasizes patient safety, teaching, teamwork, and ongoing professional development in a fast-paced surgical setting.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by American Heart Association
• Strong preference for RN with OR experience

Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized nursing care using the nursing process and tailored care plans.
• Monitor patient conditions and coordinate with the healthcare team to optimize outcomes.
• Promote patient safety by implementing risk-reduction strategies and documenting all procedures.
• Educate patients and families, supporting readiness for discharge.
• Coordinate care and discharge planning across the care continuum.
• Lead and delegate to team members and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain professional growth through ongoing education and competency activities.
