Job summary

Mercy is seeking a compassionate Operating Room Circulator RN to join our surgical services team. You will coordinate and oversee perioperative patient care, serving as a key advocate for patients during surgery and collaborating with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the interdisciplinary team to promote safety and efficient workflows.

The role requires nursing education, RN licensure, and BLS, with ACLS and other certifications potentially required based on department needs.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in state or compact
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire
• ACLS and other unit-specific certifications may be required

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
• Serve as the patient's advocate throughout the perioperative experience.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and team to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop care plans.
• Document accurately in the electronic medical record and communicate plans.
