UChicago Medicine AdventHealth in Hinsdale, IL is seeking an registered nurse for the evening shift to deliver high-quality patient care on the surgical/medical unit. The role offers a starting pay of $37.50/hour with an eligible sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 for qualifying applicants.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills and compassion for patients and families under stress.
• Works independently, self-motivated, follows physician and management direction.
• Maintain safe knowledge of equipment, procedures, supplies, IV pumps, NOVA Glucose monitor, I-STAT, sterilization policies.
• Must be proficient in English.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• EMR charting.
• Computer literacy preferred.
• Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems preferred.
• Must provide care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, safety and age needs of patients served.
• Organizational.

Responsabilités

• Assess patient conditions and needs to develop individualized care plans.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to implement care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol.
• Monitor and evaluate patient progress and adjust plans accordingly.
• Document care activities in medical records.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments and post-discharge care.
• Advocate for patient safety and reduce risks.
• Collaborate with healthcare team for coordinated care.
• Maintain sterile environment and adhere to safety protocols.
• Perform IVs, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collection.
• Provide emotional and physical support to patients and families.
• Engage in quality improvement to enhance care, safety and efficiency.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
