Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health seeks an Assistant Nurse Manager to lead nursing teams, coordinate staffing, and support throughput, quality and safety outcomes in our hospital. This role emphasizes collaboration, team-based care, and strong patient focus.

The ANM will provide operational and administrative support to nurse leadership, supervise front-line staff, and drive daily improvements in staffing, competency, and clinical care. NJ RN licensure and BSN progression are preferred.

Qualifications

• A minimum of an associate in Nursing or diploma of Nursing degree.
• BSN in progress and/or willing to acquire within three (3) years of hire.
• Minimum 3 years recent nursing experience in respective specialty or equivalent. Exceptions may be made for internal candidates on a case by case basis (i.e. the candidate has a history of hospital administration education/experience).
• The ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs, a strong sense of accountability for improving the lives of our patients and their caregivers, an exceptional focus on teamwork, dedication to ongoing education and the ability and passion to deliver the highest quality of care based on a strong sense of patient focus are all required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate staffing, supports throughput, quality and safety outcomes, staff competency, hiring, clinical and staff corrective actions, unit efficiency, quality care and other departmental activities to support the mission, vision and values.
• Provide operational and administrative support to Nurse leadership and participate in assessing, planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating nursing practice and the nursing care delivery system with front-line staff supervision.
