  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management or related field.
  • 4+ years manufacturing experience; 2+ years in Operational Excellence/Lean/Continuous Improvement.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Operational Excellence (OPX) Engineer II leads cross functional improvement projects that deliver measurable gains in efficiency, cost reduction, and process reliability. This role applies advanced Lean tools, facilitates Kaizen workshops, and support root cause analysis to solve complex operational problems. It partners with production, engineering, and quality teams to optimize processes, improve standard work, and ensure improvements are sustained through effective systems, training and performance monitoring. This position works independently, mentoring junior OPX staff, and plays a key role in strengthening the organization’s continuous improvement culture.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
  • Deploy and sustain Shopfloor Management systems, including visual management standards, SQDCP boards, and KPI management, actively working with OPX team.
  • Support the implementation, auditing, and continuous improvement of 5S standards to enhance safety, productivity, visual control, and operational discipline.
  • Conduct and review assessments of Shopfloor Management and 5S maturity, identify improvement opportunities, and support action plans to strengthen K°MAeX (Kelvion Manufacturing Excellence) standards adherence.
  • Improved processes and waste from existing Value Stream Maps (VSM) and prioritize improvement initiatives.
  • Lead and facilitate Kaizen events, workshops, and continuous improvement projects within assigned areas.
  • Support teams in applying structured problem-solving methodologies (such as A3, 8D, Ishikawa).
  • Train operators, team leaders, supervisors on Lean tools and Continuous Improvement practices.
  • Assist in establishing sustainability plans and follow-up processes to ensure improvements are maintained.
  • Collect, analyze, and report operational data to identify trends and support decision-making.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure Kelvion's Standard of Excellence, including quality, safety, and customer focus, is incorporated into every product and process.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, operational discipline, and employee engagement.
  • Support the deployment and standardization of OPX standards, tools, and best practices.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to the Global Code of Business Principles, Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, Vision and Values, and Operational Framework.
  • Strong knowledge of Shopfloor Management, Visual Management, operational KPI deployment, and Tier Accountability Reviews in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles.
  • Experience with 5S, Standard Work, Waste Elimination, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Experience leading or supporting improvement projects with measurable business results.
  • Six Sigma certification (minimum Green Belt) or similar project experience preferred.
  • Ability to analyze operational data from shopfloor and/or ERP system, using insights to drive process improvements.
  • Strong facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across functions and organizational levels.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with ERP systems and data analysis tools (Excel, PowerBI) is preferred.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with 2+ years of experience in Operational Excellence or Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement roles.
