Job summary

Total Vision is seeking a friendly, detail‑oriented Patient Care Coordinator to welcome patients, perform pretests, schedule appointments, and relay health information to doctors. The role emphasizes strong communication, multitasking, and reliable assistance in a fast paced optometry setting.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, is comfortable with ophthalmic equipment, and ready to travel between practices. Saturday availability is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Experience in Ophthalmic/Optometric/medical industry is a plus but is not required.
• Strong communication and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Greet incoming patients warmly and escort them for pretesting.
• Answer phones, schedule appointments per doctor preferences, and relay messages.
• Perform pretesting including blood pressure, NCT, color and stereo tests and autoperimetry.
• Advocate for overall health evaluation (e.g., Optomap) when appropriate.
• Collect and relay health and ocular history to the doctor.
• Conduct contact lens insertion/removal training and order lenses as needed.
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and doctor’s lanes; keep pretest areas clean.
