Job summary

The Indian Health Service seeks a dedicated optometric physician to deliver comprehensive eye care within Native communities in Montana. The role includes performing full eye exams, diagnosing and treating ocular diseases, and providing emergency ocular care in various settings.

A current optometry license and an accredited Doctor of Optometry degree are required. Public service bonuses and federal benefits accompany this position.

Qualifications

• Must have a Doctor of Optometry degree from an ACOE-accredited program.
• Must possess a current, full, and unrestricted optometry license.
• One year of residency or equivalent experience may be favored for higher levels.

Responsibilities

• Perform full range of optometric duties: examine, diagnose, and treat ocular diseases.
• Provide comprehensive primary eye care and management of ocular conditions.
• Diagnose and treat a wide range of eye diseases.
• Provide emergency ocular care in outpatient and inpatient settings.
