Job summary

Acuity Eyecare Group is seeking a licensed Optometrist to conduct comprehensive eye exams, educate patients, and support practice growth. The role focuses on building lasting patient relationships, performing thorough ocular histories, and prescribing eyewear and medications as appropriate.

The Optometrist will provide postoperative care and screen for systemic diseases, coordinating with staff to ensure high-quality patient outcomes and ongoing eye health maintenance.

Qualifications

• Doctorate of Optometry from a credentialed institution.
• Must have passed all optometric state boards.

Responsibilities

• Establish long term patient relationships through proper patient care and education.
• Performs verbal interview with patient prior to examination to determine health and ocular history, medical issues, reasons for visit and visual needs.
• Instructs, recommends and advises patients on options for remediation of ametropias, systemic and ocular diseases and visual needs; hand-off to staff with recap.
• Generate patient loyalty and promote Acuity Eyecare Group values.
• Perform vision tests and analyze results.
• Diagnose sight problems and eye diseases; prescribe eyewear, contact lenses and medications.
• Recommend or provide treatments such as vision therapy or low-vision rehabilitation.
• Provide pre- and postoperative care for eye surgery; post-op eye exams.
• Evaluate patients for diseases like diabetes and refer to other providers as needed.
• Counsel patients on eye health and proper contact lens care and schedule travel eye exams.
• Communicate recommendations clearly to opticians and sales staff for best lens options.
