Job summary

Acuity Eyecare Group is seeking a professional optometrist to conduct comprehensive eye exams and help grow the practice by establishing strong patient relationships and delivering patient education on eyecare.

The role involves performing vision tests, diagnosing common eye conditions, prescribing eyewear and medications, and guiding patients on treatment options while collaborating with staff and opticians. On-site, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Doctorate of Optometry from a credentialed institution.
• Must have passed all optometric state boards.

Responsibilities

• Establish long-term patient relationships through proper care and education.
• Conduct verbal interviews to assess health and ocular history, and reasons for visit.
• Advise patients on options for refractive correction and ocular treatment; hand-off to staff as needed.
• Promote loyalty and advocate Acuity Eyecare Group values.
• Perform vision tests and analyze results to diagnose sight problems.
• Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and medications as appropriate.
• Recommend treatments such as vision therapy or low-vision rehabilitation.
• Provide pre- and postoperative eye care for cataract/refractive surgery patients.
• Evaluate patients for diseases such as diabetes and refer to other providers as needed.
• Counsel patients on eye health and lens care and a proper examination schedule.
• Communicate clearly with opticians and sales staff on best lens options.
