Qualifications

• Doctorate of Optometry from a credentialed institution.
• Must have passed all optometric state boards.

Responsibilities

• Establish long-term patient relationships through proper care and education.
• Performs verbal interview with patient to determine health, ocular history, and needs.
• Instructs and advises patients on corrective options for ametropias and ocular disease; hand-off to staff after recap.
• Promote the profession of Optometry and Acuity Eyecare Group values to patients.
• Perform vision tests and analyze results.
• Diagnose refractive errors and eye diseases.
• Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and medications.
• Counsel on eye health and contact lens care and exam frequency.
• Communicate lens options and coatings to opticians and staff.
