Acuity Eyecare Group in Columbia, SC seeks a full-time Optometrist to perform comprehensive eye exams and manage ocular health in partnership with our care team. You will interview patients, determine medical and visual needs, prescribe glasses, contacts, medications, and guide post-operative care while promoting eye health and patient loyalty through education and exemplary service.

Candidates should hold a Doctorate of Optometry and have state board clearance to practice; strong communication

Qualifications

• Doctorate of Optometry from an accredited program
• Must have passed all optometric state boards
• Strong communication and patient education skills

Responsibilities

• Conduct eye exams
• Establish long-term patient relationships through care and education
• Interview patients to assess health and ocular history
• Advise on options for refractive corrections and treatments
• Promote eye health and patient loyalty
• Perform vision tests and analyze results
• Diagnose sight problems and ocular diseases
• Prescribe glasses, contacts, and medications
• Provide pre- and postoperative care for eye surgeries
• Screen for systemic diseases and refer as needed
• Communicate recommendations for lenses and coatings to staff
