Job summary

The MedServ Group in Port Jefferson, NY is seeking a skilled Optometrist to join our rapidly growing medical practice serving residents in skilled nursing facilities. You will apply clinical and interpersonal skills to deliver high-quality eye care to the elderly population with a compassionate approach.

We offer flexible schedules, part-time compensation as $40.00-$45.00 per patient or 35%-40% of collections ($1050-$1250 per visit).

Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry degree and active state license required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate with a wide range of patient personalities.

The ideal Optometrist is confident, compassionate, and committed to delivering quality healthcare to the elderly population

Optometrist Responsibilities

• Performing comprehensive eye exams.
• Diagnosing and assisting in the treatment of ocular disease.
• Prescribing corrective lenses or eye medications as needed.
• Providing pre- and post-operative care to surgical patients.

Optometrist Requirements

• Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree and active state license.
• Ability to communicate with a wide range of patient personalities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• A strong sense of workplace professionalism and personal ethics.
• Customer-service orientation with excellent interpersonal skills.

General Information

• 7-8 hours visiting patients plus paperwork.
• Schedule : Monday-Friday (typically 9:00AM-5:00PM). Flexible schedules also available.
• 22-25 patients per visit, preventative care
• Part Time Compensation : $40.00 -$45.00 per patient or 35%-40% of collections ($1050-$1250 per visit).
